Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: May 29, 2025
Welcome to LaOtraMirilla LLC! We’re thrilled you’re here, ready to explore hidden villages, quirky museums, and wild festivals in Spanish-speaking countries. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are the rules of the road for using our website and booking our tours. Think of them as the map for your journey with us—clear, fair, and meant to keep things smooth. By using our site or booking a tour, you agree to these Terms, so give ‘em a quick read. Got questions? Our contact info’s at the bottom.
1. Who We Are
LaOtraMirilla LLC is a travel company based at 2600 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39531, US. We craft unique, off-the-grid tours to places like Peru’s jungles, Colombia’s ghost towns, and Spain’s forgotten castles. Our website (www.laotramirilla.com) is your gateway to booking these adventures, browsing itineraries, and grabbing digital maps of secret spots.
2. Booking a Tour
When you book a tour with us, here’s how it works:
Reservations: Book through our website or by contacting us. You’ll pay a deposit (usually 30% of the tour price) to secure your spot. The rest is due 30 days before departure. If booking within 30 days, full payment’s needed upfront.
Confirmation: Once we get your payment, we’ll send a confirmation email with tour details and your digital map of hidden gems (like that secret cenote in Guatemala).
Eligibility: You must be 18 or older to book, or have a guardian’s consent. Some tours (like jungle treks) require decent fitness—check the tour description for details.
Group Size: Tours are small (max 8–12 people) for that intimate vibe. We’ll let you know if a tour needs a minimum number to run.
3. Payments and Pricing
Prices are in USD, per person, based on double occupancy (solo travelers may pay a supplement—ask us!).
Prices include what’s listed in the tour description (e.g., lodging, guides, festival access). Extras like flights, insurance, or tips aren’t included unless stated.
We use secure third-party payment processors. Your card details are encrypted, and we don’t store them.
If currency exchange rates or local costs (like lodge fees) change, we may adjust prices, but we’ll notify you before final payment.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
Plans change, we get it. Check our Refund Policy for full details, but here’s the gist:
Your Cancellation: Cancel more than 60 days out for a full refund (minus a $100 fee). Between 30–60 days, get 50% back. Less than 30 days, no refunds, as we’ve paid local partners.
Our Cancellation: If we cancel (due to weather, safety, or low bookings), you’ll get a full refund or a transfer to another tour/date, your choice.
No-Shows: Miss the tour start or leave early? Sorry, no refunds or credits.
5. Tour Changes
We plan tours with care, but sometimes stuff happens—weather, local events, or safety issues. We may tweak itineraries (like swapping a hike for a village visit) to keep things awesome. If a major change affects your trip, we’ll notify you ASAP and offer options, like a partial refund or a different tour.
6. Your Responsibilities
To keep the adventure smooth:
Travel Documents: You’re responsible for valid passports, visas, and vaccinations (check requirements for countries like Bolivia or Venezuela).
Health and Fitness: Some tours involve hiking or high altitudes (like 4,500m in the Altiplano). Let us know about medical conditions or mobility issues when booking.
Behavior: Be respectful to local communities, guides, and fellow travelers. Disruptive behavior (like disrespecting a shamanic ceremony) may lead to removal without refund.
Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend insurance for cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost luggage. It’s on you to get it.
7. Safety and Risk
Our tours visit remote spots, like jungle trails or desert flats, which come with risks (think bugs, rough roads, or altitude). We prioritize safety with trained guides and vetted partners, but you travel at your own risk. Follow guide instructions (e.g., don’t paddle too close to caimans in the Orinoco). We’re not liable for injuries, losses, or damages caused by unforeseen events (like storms or political issues).
8. Website Use
Our website’s for browsing, booking, and dreaming about hidden gems. By using it:
You agree not to misuse it (no hacking, spamming, or copying our content without permission).
Our content (text, images, digital maps) is owned by LaOtraMirilla LLC. You can’t reproduce it for commercial use without our okay.
We strive to keep info accurate but aren’t responsible for typos or outdated details (like a festival date changing).
9. Third-Party Services
We work with local partners (guides, lodges) and third-party providers (payment processors, analytics tools). They follow our privacy standards, but we’re not liable for their actions. Links to external sites (like partner hotels) are for convenience—check their policies before sharing info.
10. Liability
We do our best to make your tour epic, but we’re not responsible for:
Losses or injuries due to your negligence (e.g., ignoring a guide’s warning).
Events beyond our control (natural disasters, political unrest, flight delays).
Personal belongings—keep an eye on your stuff, especially at lively festivals.
Our liability is limited to the tour price you paid. Any disputes will be handled under Mississippi law, with Biloxi courts as the venue.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms as our tours evolve or laws change. We’ll post updates on our site and notify you of major changes via email. Check back here to stay in the loop.
